Ponte 16 opened up its operations on February 1, 2008. The cost of the entire project is estimated at approximately US$350M. The theme of Ponte 16 is centred on the French Riviera. Ponte 16 is a joint partnership between SJM, which is a travel and cruise operator, Macau Success, and Accor Hotels (Sofitel).
Ponte 16 is situated in the inner part on the Macau peninsula harbour. It is however, quite far from downtown Macau and taking a cab ride is the only way to get to and fro. So if you are in this area, there is not much to do here expect for enjoying the casino and the hotel.
Ponte 16 provides a total of 420 rooms in a 20 storey building. Accor (Sofitel) manage the hotel. The facilities provided by the management are of excellent quality. The rooms are well furnished with flat panel TV’s, mini bars, and an internet access via both broadband and wifi. The hotel also has a swimming pool, a spa, a business centre, a wedding chapel and several other kinds of rooms that can be used for the purpose of business meetings and gatherings.
There is just one single restaurant at Ponte 16 – The Le Mistral, which offers both a la carte menu and buffet options. It has a menu that offers cuisines from across the globe.
Apart form the restaurant, there are three bars at Ponte 16. Le Rendezvous is excellent for cocktails, a wide range of wines, and tapas. The Pool Bar offers an assortment of drinks that include smoothies and juices of different vegetables and fruits. The Vin Bar offers both great wine as well as snacks.
