Which poker hands do you really hate playing

Postby Christophe.Bernhart » 28 Dec 2009, 02:44

Just like the title says which poker hand do you really hate playing, mostly because the obvious but there might be other factors. Could be a hand that have not given you anything else than problems - and do we want problems at the poker table ? NO.

Personally the hand that have given me most problems in history is the famous AA.

But it has also given me good experience. For me it's how you play that particular hand and at the same time having a good eye on what's happening at the rest of the table.

At the end you might still not be the winner.

has to be AA...no doubt...but in saying that i'm also trying to keep note of when (although not that often ) it holds up and then of course its all good

10-10 for me; not sure if to raise or call- position helps with decision, but still it is tough.

I've had a lot of trouble playing jjs. But any face pair will give you trouble if you are playing them out of position. If you have a good player who has position on you, he will raise you with a lot less...and many times draw a winning hand. You have to play these big pairs in position and with an aggressive preflop...do not bluff, do not slow play...play them aggressively. If you are out of position, an aggressive preflop bet will clear most people out of the pot, but if you get raised or called, wait on the flop to see if you hit your set. If not, then you need to think about exit strategy, because in the end, all you have is 1 pair. Sometimes that's enough, but if your opponent is still betting and you're holding only 1 pair, how much are you willing to lose on that pair? Anyway, always take into account your position, the number of people at the table, the number of callers and raisers, etc. It's hard to lay down a big pair, but a lot of times it's gonna save you a bunch of your bankroll for a hand that is more profitable than a single pair.
