Executives from MGM Mirage (MGM) and the Mandarin Oriental International Ltd. opened the 47 story Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas at the City Center.
Opening events included a ribbon cutting ceremony, drummers, Tibetan chime players and an Asian cultural performance to summon good luck and fortune.
Doorman in Top hats escorted VIP’s, Press and guest to the 23rd floor Sky Lobby that features a panoramic view of the Strip. The Lobby separates the hotel rooms from the residential units.
The 392 hotel room and 227 condominium development is the second non-gaming boutique hotel opened within the City Center complex and is connected to Crystals the retail and entertainment district by a pedestrian bridge.
While owned by MGM Mirage, the Mandarin Oriental International Ltd. will manage the daily operations of the hotel.
The casino operator and co investor Dubai World will have their final grand opening for the projects centerpiece the Aria resort and Casino on December 16.
